Leadership Team
Founded by Dr. Shoaib Ugradar, TORC's team boasts an extensive twenty-year involvement in Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) research. Together, TORC founders were among the pioneering groups to recognize the therapeutic potential of IGF-1R therapy for TED.
Today, our proprietary technology is integral to several significant trials in collaboration with leading organizations such as Horizon Therapeutics, Viridian Therapeutics, and Valenza Bio. Our methodologies and findings have been recognized through over 20 peer-reviewed publications spanning the fields of ophthalmology and endocrinology, reflecting our dedication to advancing scientific knowledge in the domain.

Dr. Shoaib Ugradar, MD
Dr. Ugradar has over 15 years of specialized experience in Ophthalmology and currently serves as an Associate Professor at the renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. His academic contributions encompass more than 20 publications, with a significant focus on Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) and volumetric assessment. Additionally, Dr. Ugradar has provided expert consultation on numerous trials centered around IGF-1R therapy.

Thomas Summerfelt PhD brings over twenty years of experience to healthcare and research-related infrastructure. Notably, he held the position of Vice President of Research & Innovation at Advocate Health Care, overseeing a department responsible for managing over 600 research studies concurrently and contributing to more than 200 publications each year.
